Abstract

1,237,408. Ships. WESER A.G. 29 July, 1968 [28 July, 1967], No. 36134/68. Heading B7A. A double-hull ship has a liquefied gas container 3 supported by means allowing expansion and contraction, the lower part of the inner hull 2 forming a leakage catchment 7 connected to suction apparatus. Upper parts of the inner hull 2 are of normal steel and are joined to nickel steel catchment 7 by welding. A covering 8 protects the upper parts and extends into the catchment. The container has external insulation 5. The suction apparatus directs leaked fluid back to the container or overboard.
