Abstract

1,237,603. Non woven fabrics. VEPA A.G. 22 Jan., 1969 [14 Feb., 1968], No. 3561/69. Addition to 1,189,851. Headings D1L and D1R. In the process according to the parent Specification for bonding a non-woven fabric of thermoplastic fibres by sucking a heated gas and then a cooling gas through the fabric whilst it is supported on a sieve drum during heating and/or cooling, steam or a steam/air mixture is used for heating the fabric, the steam can be produced in the heating chamber by steam injection jets or by an endless blanket which is moistened before it enters the heating chamber. The fabric can be subjected to pressure by an endless belt during heating.
