Abstract
1,237,706. Electromagnet. HYMATIC ENG. CO. Ltd. 1 May, 1969 [1 May, 1968], No. 20662/68. Heading H1P. An electromagnet which may operate a small pneumatic valve is in the form of a pot magnet with a remanent magnet 22 gripped between a root portion 21 of the core of the electromagnet and pole member 23 having a pole face and shoulders tapering toward the pole face arranged for co-operation with shoulders 28 of a retaining member 28 which may be part of a coil former 27. The former 27 is held in the pot 11, 12 by a guide ring 32 in an annular top wall 34 of the magnet which has a raised portion surrounding the hollow armature 36 which is biased away from the core by a spring 43 and contains one end of an actuating rod 18 guided in the ring 32. A compression spring 38 is interposed between the end of the rod 18 and a plug 39 in the end of the armature to enable the armature to start to. move downwards before the rod moves.
