Abstract

1,253,473. Buoyant hose. DAVID MOSELEY & SONS Ltd. 16 June, 1970 [17 June, 1969], No. 30543/69. Heading F2P. A buoyant hose comprises a hose element 11, at least one helically-wrapped cellular layer 12 and a cover 13, 14. End fittings 15 for hose connection are provided. As shown, several cellular layers 12 are provided, with any pair of adjacent layers comprising helices of opposite hand. Gaps (not shown) between adjacent coils of each helix may be filled with rubber. The cellular material may be rubber, e.g. neoprene, or a synthetic plastics. The cover comprises a textile fabric reinforcement 13 and a rubber sleeve 14.
