Abstract

1281237 Reaper-binder YANMAR DIESEL ENGINE CO Ltd 29 July 1969 38007/69 Heading A1F A reaper-binder comprises a crop pick-up device A which consists of two parallel inclined cases 4 each containing a rotatable endless belt or chain 7 mounted on sprockets 5, 5' with a plurality of pick-up arms 8 pivotally connected and an adjustably mounted guide member 10 extending along a portion of the chain path and with which the pick-up arms engage thereby causing the arms to stand erect and emerge through a slot provided in the casing. The arms are preferably made of a synthetic resin and are connected to the chain 7 by mounting pins 9 (not shown) and their erection can be varied by adjusting the position of the guide member 10 and also by use of an additional guide member 13. A centre divider 17 between the pick-up cases 4 and a forwardly projecting divider bar 19 (not shown) on each side of the machine frame are provided to guide the crop to be picked up by the pick-up device A. Located rearwardly and sequentially of the pick-up device are cutting device B and a binding device D.
