Abstract
1323478 Preparation of polyalkyleneglycol dibenzoate STAMICARBON NV 16 Dec 1970 [20 Dec 1969] 59791/70 Heading C2C Polyalkyleneglycol dibenzoates are prepared by reacting polyalkyleneglycols with benzoic acid at a temperature between 200‹ and 300‹ C., and removing the reaction water from the reaction mixture by evaporation during the reaction. To further purify the esters produced, the reaction product is preferably treated with a mild oxidizing agent such as a dilute acidic or basic potassium permanganate solution.
