Abstract

1369586 Pretreatment of synthetic textiles before dyeing IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 18 Oct 1971 [17 July 1970] 34802/70 Heading D1B Level dyeing molecularly orientated thermoplastic polyamide articles are obtained by treating the article in a state of low molecular orientation with 0.02-0.5% by weight of an anionic dye levelling agent prior to increasing molecular orientation (i.e. stretching). The anionic dye levelling agent may be applied in a spin finish composition e.g. to a polyhexamethylene adipamide fibre. Undrawn yarn of polyhexamethylene adipamide are treated as above followed by dyeing with anionic dyes. The polyamide material may be in the form of a film, yarn, fabric or tow.
