Steam pumps. - Apparatus for reversing the motion of reciprocating parts of machines &c. is described as applied to the valve-gear of a steam pumping-engine. The motion of the power pistonrod is transmitted to the valve-rod through tappet collars thereon, one of which is also controlled by spring toggle-arms.
