Abstract

To improve adhesion of plastics materials to hydrophilic materials, their surfaces are coated with a prepolymer having at least two ethylenically unsaturated double bonds and polymerizing the prepolymer by ultraviolet radiation. Optionally a radically-polymerizable monomer is mixed with the prepolymer. The method is especially suitable for treating the surface of photographic film base to improve its adhesion to photo-sensitive emulsions.
