Abstract

The element comprises an electrical component (1) having two metal clad faces (8), a pair of metal leads (3, 4) each with an enlarged head (6, 7) terminating in an end face, a glass sleeve (2) surrounding said electrical component (1) and said enlarged heads (6, 7) of said leads (3, 4), said metal leads (3, 4) extending out of said glass sleeve (2) and away from said electrical component (1), at least one electrically conductive spring (11) compressed between one metal clad face (8) and the end face of the adjacent lead, said glass sleeve (2) being sealed to the heads (6, 7) of said leads (3, 4), said leads (3, 4) being in electrical contact with said metal clad faces (8) either directly or through a spring (11). <IMAGE>
