Abstract
552,425. Plaster for walls &c. ROSE, H., and CELOTEX, Ltd. Aug. 5, 1941, No. 9934. [Classes 22 and 70] A composition for use as a plaster on walls, ceilings &c. or for making blocks or tiles or coating porous blocks consists of sludge containing fibres derived from the paper board, fibre board, or paper-making industries, a solid incombustible material which will absorb water from the sludge such as burnt and powdered fireclay, Fullers earth, diatomaceous earth or kieselguhr and an alkaline silicate. A small proportion of a setting-agent such as Portland cement, lime, calcium chloride or plaster of Paris and fibrous waste such as sawdust, wood flour or the dust obtained in sanding fibreboard may be added. The sludge may be treated in a cone thickener and a rotary vacuum filter so that it contains below 90 per cent. of water.
