Abstract

564,458. Sand blast. WILLFORD & CO., Ltd., and ONIONS, J. W. June 9, 1943, No. 9244. [Class 60] [Also in Group XXII] Springs or other articles are shotblasted by moving them through a stream of shot falling by gravity or projected by known means. The springs 6, of which one only is shown, may be mounted on flat faces 5 of a wheel 2 rotated at high speed in a casing 3 to which shot are admitted at a regulated rate by a funnel 4 and adjustable flap 8. The rebound may be used to augment the action by arranging a rubberfaced deflector 15 to cause the shot to strike the articles again. The casing has a removable cover 13, for attaching the articles and an outlet 14 for the used shot.
