Abstract

660,077. Pressure cookers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 7, 1949 [Dec. 17, 1948], No. 31425/49. Class 28 (i). [Also in Group XXXV] A thermal control for a metallic vessel 1 of the type having an electric heating element 4 in thermal contact with a wall thereof has a first thermostat 13 mounted in thermally conductive relation with the wall 9 of the vessel at a point displaced from the heating element, and a second thermostat 19, included in the heater circuit 26, 27, having a heater 22 adapted to be energized by the first thermostat for operating the second thermostat to interrupt the flow of current through the circuit. The invention is shown applied to a pressure cooker the second thermostat being located in the handle of the vessel.
