Abstract
683,033. Doors. DANSIE, C. E. March 28, 1951 [Feb. 6, 1950], No. 3000/50. Class 20(iii) [Also in Group XXV] Means for locking doors which are operated by swinging them on a bracket 4 pivoted at 4c to a wall, e.g. of a garage, from a vertical closed position to a raised horizontal position parallel with the roof 1, comprises a bolt 7 and a latch lock 9, the latch 9a of the latter engaging beneath an abutment 7a at the lower end of the bolt 7 when this is raised to engage a hasp 8 to lock the door, and the bolt being released to fall with, or without, spring assistance when the latch 9a is withdrawn. The bolt is operated from the inside by means of the abutment 7a or from the outside by means of a bolt 10 which extends through a slot 3a in the door and through a slotted plate 10b. The lifting movement of the door about its pivot 4c is assisted by a spring 5, one end of which is secured to the roof 1, the other end carrying a ring 6 for engagement in one of a plurality of notches 4b on the bracket 4.
