Abstract
683,062. Fertilizer distributers. NICHOLSON, A. C. March 10, 1950 [Feb. 2, 1949], No. 2845/49. Class 6(i) A machine for distributing artificial fertilizer comprises a transverse tube 2 or girder provided with arms 9, on which is mounted a hopper 1, downwardly projecting arms 4 which carry transversely adjustable travelling wheels 5 mounted on axles 6, arms 3 which carry distributing dishes 21 and fingers 20, arms 10 which carry gear-boxes 11 spaced beyond the hopper to permit chain wheels 12 which are driven from chain wheels 8 on the axles 6 to be located between the hopper ends and the gear-boxes 11 and lugs 15 for the attachment of a draw-bar 16. The dishes 21 are rotatable in brackets 22 which are bolted to a rod 17 which passes through and is fixed to the arms 3. The dishes are driven by worms 23 mounted on a shaft 18 which extends into one of the gear-boxes 11. The fingers 20 are mounted on a shaft 19, which is driven by the remaining gear-box 11, and carried in adjustable bearings 24 on the arms. 3. The dishes may be mounted as shown in Specification 583,135, and the gear-boxes may contain change speed mechanism as shown in Specification 594,954, and control mechanism as shown in Specification 683,063. Specification 535,998 also is referred to.
