In a rotary feeder for bulk material in which radial vanes e, Fig. 1, carry spring-pressed sealing blades h, the range of radially outward movement of the blades h is limited by adjustable stop means to reduce the frictional wear on the casing. The vanes e, Fig. 3, are recessed to carry the blades h which are adjustably retained in position by cheese-headed studs g and urged radially outwardly by coil springs i mounted on the studs g. The outer edges of the blades h may be chamfered and may have undercut leading edges f which operate to strip adherent material from the housing.
