Abstract

972,730. Rotary drum filters. CHEMICAL EQUIPMENT ENGINEERING Ltd. May 2. 1963 [May 16, 1962], No. 18783/62. Heading B1D. Solid matter from sludge admitted under pressure at a<2> is scraped from an inward flow rotary drum filter A<1> by a knife C and falls into the bottom of a containing vessel B whence it is discharged at intervals through a valve C' which opens and closes automatically in response to the pressure in the vessel. Preferably drain lines d, and a filtrate chamber D and blowback chamber D<1>, are provided, compressed air or water or other fluid being admitted through chamber D' to all the drain lines in turn.
