Abstract

972,739. Lids for vessels. M. LOCKER. Sept. 20, 1963 [Oct. 9, 1962], No. 38090/62. Heading A4A. [Also in Division B8] A one piece lid member 1 adapted to be screwed on to a bottle or jar includes a handle 3 and a closure flap 10 hingedly connected to the upper wall 9 of the closure member and urged downwardly against a pouring spout 7. The closure member is formed by moulding to the form of Fig. 1, after which the flap is forced into the position of Fig. 3. Depression of the flap 12 facilitates opening of the closure member. The member may be attached to a bottle or jar by means other than screwing, and is preferably made of polypropylene or a stabilized polythene.
