972,755. Toilet roll holders. A. F. J. REYNES. June 26, 1963 [July 3, 1962], No. 25429/63. Heading A4G. A toilet roll holder comprises a half-cylinder bottom 2 into which a roll is placed with the end to be used extending out over a cutting edge, the bottom having full circle ends 1 with grooves 5 in which a cover slides with a handle overlying the cutter to form an exit opening. Each end has a vertical slot 14 with lateral apertures 15 at the bottom of each slot whereby a peg 16, 17, 18 is pushed through the slot into the core 4 of the roll until outcurved leaf springs 19 or tongues of plastics material snap behind the edges of the slot to prevent removal of the roll. When the roll is fully used, the peg with its springs is withdrawn through the lateral apertures. Braking of the roll is achieved through its weight and the pegs.
