Abstract
The invention relates to compounds of the formula RCOO(CH2)nNR1R2, in which R is a pentafluorophenyl, a pentafluorophenylalkyl or a pentafluorophenylalkenyl group of 6, 7 or 8 carbon atoms, R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups of 1-3 carbon atoms, and n is 2-5. The compounds are prepared by reacting an appropriate pentafluorophenyl carboxylic acid chloride with an appropriate aminoalcohol. The reaction may be effected at atmospheric temperature in a solvent, e.g. ether or benzene. Examples are given in which (1) pentafluorobenzoyl chloride and diethylaminoethanol yield diethylaminoethyl pentafluorobenzoate; the hydrochloride and the picrate of the product are described; (2) pentafluorophenylacetyl chloride and diethylaminoethanol yield diethylaminoethyl pentafluorophenyl acetate; the hydrochloride and the picrate of the product are described; (3) a -(pentafluorophenyl) propionyl chloride and diethylaminoethanol yield diethylaminoethyl a -(pentafluorophenyl) propionate; the hydrochloride of the product is described.
