Abstract

990,669. Electric battery lamps. NAM JAM FACTORY Ltd. Dec. 3, 1963, No. 47606/63 Heading F4R. [Also in Division H2] An electric torch comprises a casing member having a rotary switch mounted thereon and including a contact member resiliently biased towards a position closing the circuit and a rotatable cam member for moving the contact member from this position. The torch consists of a casing 10 closed at the front end by a hollow translucent head 12 and provided with a pocket clip 13. The bulb is screwed into a metal carrier 19 which is a push fit in the head 12, the rear of the carrier being closed by an insulating disc 21 carrying a metal ferrule 22 for connecting the centre contact of the bulb 18 to the centre terminal of the battery. The clip 13 carries a contact member 27 secured to its end and passing between a pair of spaced rollers 32, being then bent to contact the base 20 of the carrier 19. Between the rollers 32 is a cam member 33 of rectangular cross-section bearing against the contact member 27. Rotation of the rollers through 90 degrees lifts the end of the contact member clear of the base 20 of the carrier.
