Abstract
Eνα μέσο αποθηκεύσεως προορίζεται να αποθηκεύει θερμική ενέργεια δια μεγάλη ισχύ με σχετικώς μεγάλη μεταφορά θερμότητος. Το μέσο περιλαμβάνει ενεργοποιουμένη αλουμίνα και ένα υδατικό μέσο και ένα μέσο αποθηκεύσεως μπορεί να χρησιμοποιείται σε χαμηλές θερμοκρασίες έως περίπου 200 βαθμούς C (κελσίου). Η εναλλαγή θερμότητος με το μέσο αποθηκεύσεως χρησιμοποιεί την ειδική θερμότητα του μέσου και την ευθαλπία η οποία προκύπτει από τις αντιστρεπτές ενδοθερμικές και εξωθερμικές χημικές μεταβολές και δίδει μεγάλη ισχύ θερμικής αποθηκεύσεως, η οποία μπορεί να αυξηθεί εάν η θερμοκρασιακή περιοχή περιλαμβάνει και μια μεταβολή φάσεως. Το μέσο αποθηκεύσεως θερμότητος μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί σε συστήματα αποθηκεύσεως όπως κλιματισμό αέρος και σε συστήματα στα οποία η θερμική ενέργεια χρησιμοποιείται σε θέσεις απομακρυσμένες από το σταθμό φορτίσεως.ω
