Abstract

Η κεφαλή με κυλίνδρους ή σωλήνες για τετράχρονους παλινδρομικούς κινητήρες εσωτερικής καύσεως αποτελείται από μια διάτρητη συμπαγή μάζα και δύο διάτρητους κύλινδρους οι οποίοι περιστρέφονται μέσα στην κεφαλή ελέγχοντας με τη διάτρητη περιφέρειά τους πότε να ανοίγουν και να κλείνουν μια θυρίδα εισαγωγής και μια θυρίδα εξαγωγής αερίων. Με τον τρόπο αυτό λειτουργίας της κεφαλής έχουμε λιγότερες τριβές απ' ότι σε μια συνηθισμένη κεφαλή, πιο άνετη εισαγωγή και εξαγωγή των αερίων προς και από τον κύλινδρο καύσεως και πιο απλό τρόπο κατασκευής. Ακόμη με την εύκολη προσαρμογή στροβίλων στους περιστρεφόμενους κυλίνδρους εξαγωγής καυσαερίων εκμεταλλευόμαστε τις πιέσεις των θερμών αερίων για τη περιστροφή της μηχανής. 'Ετσι οι κεφαλές με κυλίνδρους ή σωλήνες (φλογέρες) μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν για πιο οικονομικούς κινητήρες εσωτερικής καύσεως.ω
