Abstract

Κατά τη χειρουργική αποκατάσταση της κρυψορχίας οχειρουργός καλείται να εκτιμήσει την κατάσταση του όρχη (11) δια της ψηλάφησης και να λάβει την απόφαση είτε για εκτομή του όρχη, είτε για τοποθέτησηστο όσχεο. Η ψηλάφηση εμπεριέχει μεγάλο βαθμό υποκειμενικότητας και αυξημένη πιθανότητα λανθασμένης αξιολόγησης της λειτουργικότητας του όρχη. Η παρούσα εφεύρεση αναφέρεται σε συσκευή η οποία ερχόμενη σε επαφή με τον όρχη (11) ποσοτικοποιεί τις μηχανικές του ιδιότητες και συμβάλλει στην ακριβέστερη εκτίμηση της λειτουργικότητας. Ως εξ τούτου, οχειρουργός λαμβάνει την απόφαση για τη δυνατότητατοποθέτησης του όρχη στο όσχεο ή όχι βασιζόμενος σε ένα σύνολο από αντικειμενικά δεδομένα παρά στηνυποκειμενική του αξιολόγηση.
