Abstract

Η παρούσα εφεύρεση αφορά φίλτρα σωματιδίων μεταλλικού αφρού για κινητήρες Diesel. Με σκοπό την επίτευξη υψηλού βαθμού απόδοσης διήθησης με ταυτόχροναχαμηλή πτώση πίεσης, εφαρμόζεται διάταξη ακτινικής ροής με μεταβλητό πορώδες σε φίλτρο με "διήθηση βάθους". Ο μεταλλικός αφρός μπορεί να είναι επικαλυμμένος με καταλυτικά ενεργή επίστρωση που διευκολύνει την οξείδωση (αναγέννηση) της συσσωρευμένης σωματιδιακής μάζας, καθώς και τη μείωση και άλλων αερίων ρύπων του καυσαερίου (CO, υδρογονάνθρακες, οξείδια του αζώτου). Η παραπάνω καταλυτική δράση επιτυγχάνεται κατά προτίμηση με εφαρμογή μη ομοιόμορφης καταλυτικής επίστρωσης μέσα στα στοιχεία διήθησης, ανάλογα με την εφαρμογή. Σε μια προτεινόμενη διαμόρφωση, ένα πρόσθετο (δευτερεύον) στοιχείο διήθησης (13) τοποθετείται εντός της μεταλλικής υποστήριξης του κύριου στοιχείου διήθησης (8). Τα μεταλλικά διαφράγματα (11, 12, 16) στην είσοδο και έξοδο του εξωτερικού κελύφους (1) σχεδιάζονται με τέτοιο τρόπο, ώστε να επιτρέπουν την κατανομή της ροήςμεταξύ κύριου (8) και δευτερεύοντος στοιχείου διήθησης (13) σύμφωνα με τις αντίστοιχες ροϊκές αντιστάσεις. Σε μια παραλλαγή της παρούσας εφεύρεσης, τοφίλτρο μπορεί να σχεδιαστεί με τέτοιο τρόπο, ώστενα επιτυγχάνεται πολύ υψηλός βαθμός απόδοσης όταντο φίλτρο είναι καθαρό και ταυτόχρονα να αποφεύγεται η υπερφόρτισή του, που θα μπορούσε να προκληθεί από διάφορους παράγοντες (λ.χ. παρατεταμένη λειτουργία σε χαμηλές θερμοκρασίες καυσαερίου).
