Abstract
Novelty: Hybrid friction-type bearing able to operate either as hydrodynamic or electromagnetic or hybrid bearing (conjunction of hydrodynamic and electromagnetic bearing) for exploiting the advantages presented by both types of bearings. Constitution: The stator (3), the caps (2), the internal ring (7), the paramagnetic sections of the internal ring (13), the coils (4), the pipe (1) of the lubricator, the sensors (6) destined to locate the position of the rotor (5) at any time and control -via the control system (12)- the pressure of the lubricant and the current of the coils. Embodiments: Use in laboratorial and industrial applications (e.g. in power generation vacuum turbines), in natural gas air compressors, in the shafting of ships, in power generation plants and in aeronautical applications requiring machines operating for long time either with high revs (bigger than 20.000 RPM) or with low revs when said machines are remaining in the waiting condition.
