Abstract

Η αντιγλαυκωματική βαλβίδα ενδοσκληρικού παραθαλάμου είναι μηχανισμός που αναφέρεται στη χειρουργική θεραπεία του γλαυκώματος. Η βαλβίδα αυτή διαθέτει σώμα (Β) τοποθετούμενο σε θύλακο, που δημιουργείται χειρουργικά εντός του σκληρού χιτώνα του οφθαλμού, και σωληνάριο (Τ), τοποθετούμενο εντός του προσθίου θαλάμου του οφθαλμού. Ο υπερκείμενος της βαλβίδας σκληρός χιτώνας (F) συρράπτεται στεγανά ώστε η βαλβίδα να τοποθετείται πλήρως ενδοσκληρικά. Η απορροή του υδατοειδούς υγρού γίνεται προς τα ενδοσκληρικά φλεβικά δίκτυα αλλά και προς τον υπερχοριοειδή χώρο (SC). Η βαλβίδα αυτή ενσωματώνεται ουσιαστικά με τη μορφή κλειστού συστήματος στο φυσιολογικό δίκτυο απορροής του υδατοειδούς υγρού του οφθαλμού και εκμεταλλεύεται τους φυσιολογικούς μηχανισμούς αυτορρύθμισης της ενδοφθάλμιας πίεσης. Έτσι μειώνεται ο κίνδυνος πρόκλησης μετεγχειρητικής υποτονίας από υπερδιήθηση υδατοειδούς υγρού, ενώ, επειδή η βαλβίδα τοποθετείται ενδοσκληρικά, μειώνεται και ο κίνδυνος εγκύστωσης, λοίμωξης ή τραυματισμού. Η προτεινόμενη σχεδίαση βαλβίδας μπορεί να βρει εφαρμογή στη χειρουργική αντιμετώπιση του γλαυκώματος.
