Abstract

Μηχανή εσωτερικής καύσης με διάταξη χρονισμού των βαλβίδων εισαγωγής και εξαγωγής η οποία εδράζεται επάνω από την κυλινδροκεφαλή και φέρει περιμετρικά οδοντωτό τμήμα ώστε να οδηγείται περιστρεφόμενη από τον στροφαλοφόρο άξονα μέσω κατάλληλης διάταξης μετάδοσης κίνησης. Η διάταξη χρονισμού φέρει στο κάτω τμήμα της πολλαπλά έκκεντρα εισαγωγής και εξαγωγής διατεταγμένα με τέτοιον τρόπο ώστε κατά την περιστροφή της να επιτυγχάνεται τετράχρονος κύκλος καύσης. Η διάταξη μπορεί να τροποποιηθεί κατάλληλα ώστε να επιτυγχάνει μεταβλητό χρονισμό των βαλβίδων, υστέρηση ή προπορία αναλόγως των απαιτήσεων του συστήματος, σε κάθε κύλινδρο ξεχωριστά. Επιπλέον, με κατάλληλη περαιτέρω τροποποίηση μπορεί να επιτευχθεί και μεταβλητό βύθισμα των βαλβίδων εισαγωγής σε κάθε κύλινδρο ξεχωριστά αυξάνοντας σημαντικά την απόδοση του κινητήρα. Οι δύο αυτές τεχνολογίες, μεταβλητός χρονισμός βαλβίδων και μεταβλητό βύθισμα βαλβίδων, μπορούν να συνυπάρχουν ταυτόχρονα συμβάλλοντας στην μέγιστη απόδοση του κινητήρα. Η κατάλληλη επιλογή του αριθμού των έκκεντρων της διάταξης χρονισμού υποπολλαπλασιάζει την ταχύτητα περιστροφής της αυξάνοντας την αξιοπιστία και την απόδοση και μειώνοντας αντιστοίχως κόστος κατασκευής και ζημιές. Επιπλέον η διάταξη είναι πολύ πιο απλή σε σχέση με έναν τετράχρονο κινητήρα εφοδιασμένο με συμβατικό εκκεντροφόρο καθώς εξαλείφεται η ανάγκη ύπαρξής του καθώς και των συναφών εξαρτημάτων για τον χρονισμό των βαλβίδων με όλη την πολυπλοκότητα που τα συνοδεύει.
