έθοδος δια την παρασκευήν καροτινοειδών, διακρινομμένη εκ τούτου, ότι την 2,6,11,15-τετραμεθυλο-εξαδεκαεξαενο-(2,4,6,10,12,14)-ινο-(8)-διάλην-(1,16) αφ' ενός μεν συμπυκνούμεν εντός ενός αδρανούς διαλύτου με μίαν ενδεχομένως υδρογονωμένην γερανυλενο-τριαρυλοφωσφίνην, της οποίας αι αρυλικαί ομάδες δύνανται να φέρουν αλκυλο- ή αλκοξυ- ομάδας, αφ' ετέρου δε τον μεσαίον τριπλούν δεσμόν υποβάλλομεν κατά γνωστόν τρόπον εις μίαν καταλυτικήν μερικήν υδρογόνωσιν και ισομερισμόν της αντιδράσεως δυναμένηςνα επιτελείται και' οιονδήποτε επιθυμητήν σειράν διαδοχής.
