Abstract

In washing machines, increasingly higher spinning speeds are required, with the result that the drum (1) together with the drum ribs (3) is exposed to especially high loads. So that the drum rib (1) of the washing-machine drum does not experience deformation even at higher spinning speeds, it is formed from a novel profile consisting of a U-shaped cap (8) and of rib webs (9) adjoining this in a V-shaped manner. Furthermore, it is provided in the region of its bottom edges with a bead (7), in order to ensure a stable fastening and compensate dimensional and production tolerances in the region of contact with the drum casing (2). The drum is suitable for all washing machines with a rotatable drum. <IMAGE>
