Abstract

The installation includes two cooled rolls (1, 2) driven in rotation and two lateral walls (3) pressed against the front ends (6, 7) of the rolls and delimiting with the latter a casting space for the liquid metal, and, at least locally in zones (10, 11) in which the lateral walls face the front ends of the rolls, a layer (21) of a self-lubricating solid material. <IMAGE>
