A process for the preparation of 2-sulfonylamide-pyranzin-4-oxide or -1-oxide, wherein the 2-chloropyrazin-4-oxide or 2-chloropyrazin-1-oxide is concentrated after sulfanilamide in the presence of a sulfanilamide alkali metal sulfanilamide salt in the presence of a solvent.
