Claims (9)
- Une feuille non tissée liée, légère, large, de faisceaux de fibrilles pelliculaires plexifilamentaires de polyéthylène ayant un poids au mètre carré non supérieur à 60 g/m², caractérisée en ce que la feuille possède, conjointement, une opacité d'au moins 75 % et un diagramme de diffusion de rayons X à grande longueur d'onde qui, sur une transcription graphique de Guinier portant le logarithme de l'intensité des rayons X diffusés en fonction du carré de l'angle de diffusion, présente un rapport de la pente à 0,005 radians carrés à la pente à 0,010 radians carrés qui n'est pas supérieur à 0,85.
- Une feuille de la revendication 1, dans laquelle la feuille ne pèse pas plus de 50 g/m², le rapport des pentes n'est pas supérieur à 0,80 et l'opacité est d'au moins 80 %.
- Une feuille de la revendication 1 ou 2, dans laquelle la feuille ne pèse pas plus de 35 g/m².
- Une feuille de la revendication 1, 2 ou 3, dans laquelle la feuille présente un taux d'inhibition bactérienne d'au moins 75 % et une perméabilité Gurley-Hill comprise dans l'intervalle de 0,8 à 4,8 s/100 cm³/cm².
- Une feuille de l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, dans laquelle la feuille ne pèse pas plus de 35 g/m², présente un rapport des pentes non supérieur à 0,75, une opacité non inférieure à 85 %, un taux d'inhibition bactérienne d'au moins 90 %, une résistance à la déstratification d'au moins 0,3 N/cm, une perméabilité Gurley-Hill d'au moins 1,4 s/100 cm³/cm² et une charge hydrostatique d'au moins 150 cm.
- Un procédé pour fabriquer une feuille non tissée liée, légère, large, de faisceaux de fibrilles pelliculaires plexifilamentaires de polyéthylène, filés par filage-éclair, lequel procédé comprend les étapes de formation d'une feuille non liée, légèrement consolidée, de ces faisceaux, caractérisé en ce qu'on chauffe la feuille formée, sans étirage notable, jusqu'à une température située dans l'intervalle de 3 à 8°C au-dessous du point de fusion du polyéthylène, puis, tout en la maintenant à cette température, on étire la feuille en au moins deux stades jusqu'à au moins 1,2 fois sa longueur initiale pour obtenir une feuille ne pesant pas plus de 60 g/m², puis on refroidit la feuille jusqu'à une température inférieure à 60°C, et, pendant le chauffage, l'étirage et le refroidissement, tandis que la feuille est à une température d'au moins 100°C, on applique des forces perpendiculaires à la surface de la feuille pour empêcher la feuille de se contracter transversalement de plus de 10%.
- Un procédé de la revendication 6, dans lequel on chauffe la feuille jusqu'à une température située dans l'intervalle de 127 à 133°C, puis on l'étire en un maximum de quatre stades à une vitesse d'étirage non supérieure à 2 x 10 %/min jusqu'à 1,3 à 2,5 fois sa longueur initiale.
- Un procédé de la revendication 7, dans lequel la température se situe dans l'intervalle de 128 à 132°C, la vitesse d'étirage n'est pas supérieure à 5 x 10³ %/min et la feuille étirée résultante mesure entre 1,5 et 2,0 fois sa longueur initiale.
- Un procédé de la revendication 6, 7 ou 8, dans lequel le refroidissement jusqu'à une température inférieure à 60°C est exécuté en appliquant le refroidissement d'abord par une surface, puis par la surface opposée de la feuille.
