Abstract
Prodn. of copper oxide-chloride (A; Cu(OH)2.CuCl2.nH2O; n=0-3) comprises treating Cu metal in aq. medium with Na or Ca hypochlorite as oxidising agent at pH3-7. Reaction is pref carried out in presence of Cl2 and/or HCl at 40-80 deg.C.
