Abstract

Equipment comprises a reactor with inlet and discharge connections, a conveyor mechanism within the reactor and a ventilation system. The reactor is in the form of a horizontal vessel. It is equipped with an inner cylinder provided with ventilation slots and surrounded by a cover. A feed cylinder contains a pusher mechanism and is located in front of the compost making vessel. The inner cylinder and the feed cylinder are interconnected. The first section of the compost making cylinder is provided with a perforated ventilation pipe which is connected to fans. The inner surface of the inner cylinder is equipped with material transfer-mixing elements.
