Abstract

The compact radiator/heat exchanger has a circular shape with a central air duct (6). The inside wall of the radiator has a folded metal skin (1), the corrugations forming longitudinal fluid and air ducts with a max. contact area. The inner skin is bonded to front and rear panels and the fluid connections are to either side of the unit. A forced ventilation is achieved by an internal electric fan (5). - The output from the radiator is ducted either to the atmosphere or to the vehicle heating system by a flap valve (8) and a T-section duct. The ventilation effect is enhanced by the ram effect when the vehicle is travelling.
