Abstract
1-(4'-amino-3',5'-di:chloro-phenyl) -2-(alkylamino)-ethanol of general formula (I) where R = hydrogen atom or a -NR1R2 gp. where R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen atoms, 1-4C alkyl gps., 2-4C alkenyl gps. or are prepd. by the reduction of a ketone of general formula (II) (R as before). Ketone (II) or its acid adducts react with a aluminium (1-4C) alkoxide at 40-120 deg.C in 1-4C alkanol. Aluminium complexes of cpd. (I) are treated with aq. solns. of an inorganic acid and cpds. (I) are liberated by aq. solns. of an inorganic base. Acid adducts are formed both by organic and inorganic acids. - (Dwg.0/1)
