An eating utensil for use by the arthritic, neuromuscular impaired, persons lacking various fingers, as well as the general public. The utensil can be easily grasped with the minimal clasping motion by persons with hands of various sizes and possessing only one finger. The utensil includes a handle (12) which permits the person's index finger (20) and palm to be supported entirely along the upper surface of the utensil. The upper surface of the utensil may or may not be flared (14 and 17) and grooved (15), allowing for maximum weight to be exerted onto the forward end (13) of the utensil be it in the form of a fork or knife.

Description

Évek óta készítettek már eszközöket a kéz szempontjából fogyatékos személyek számára, hogy azok étkezését megkönnyítsék.Devices have been made for handicapped people for years to make their eating easier.

Devices that employ unusual handles and modalities to attach the device to the hand of a disabled person are often sources of embarrassment and lack the dignity that is required in a standard cutlery eating culture.

Although people with musculoskeletal disorders and other handicaps suffer from certain limitations that deserve special attention, it is an object of the present invention to keep these specific requirements in mind while retaining general characteristics, simplicity and homogeneous structure, and associating it with a standard cutlery for the non-injured. .

A találmány lehetővé teszi az evőeszközök alkalmazását a lehető legkisebb rákapcsoló művelettel. The present invention permits the use of cutlery with the smallest possible engagement.

Positioning the tip of the index finger at the very front of the handle of a cutlery such as a knife or fork ensures that it is perfectly controlled by the cutlery user.

The cutlery can be grasped by the user with any of the five fingers.

The shape of the handle, which may or may not be flushed, provides maximum contact between the cutlery, the index finger and the center of the palm, starting at the middle of the index finger and ending at the tip of the palm, near the wrist.

Ez az érintkezés az evőeszköz, a mutatóujj és a tenyér • · «··* ··· • « · · ··· · · · • * · · · · ·· ···· »· «·This contact between the cutlery, the index finger and the palm · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·

- 3 között teszi lehetővé, hogy az evőeszközre a kar maximális súlya hasson.- 3 to allow the cutlery to be exposed to the maximum weight of the arm.

The cutlery may be made of lightweight material, since it does not depend on the weight of the cutlery so that maximum pressure is exerted on the front of the cutlery to facilitate cutting or lapping motion.

The prior art cutlery, which has been developed so far for handicapped persons who have hand damage due to arthritis or neuroinflammation, lacks one or more of the above characteristics and, consequently, is unsatisfactory.

In general, they are, for simplicity, common cutlery and create tools that can be used, particularly if not exclusively, by those with reduced skill.

OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a cutlery having the features described above and which is a significant improvement over the prior art without losing its simplicity of form, homogeneous structure and market appeal.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a cutlery that can be used by both handicapped and non-handicapped persons and which overcome the shortcomings of known cutlery of this kind.

A találmány jelentős lépést jelent az ismert megoldásokhoz képest, mivel megkönnyíti az evést mind a kézügyességben gátolt, mind a nem gátolt személyek számára, ugyanakkor a finom étkészletekkel társított esztétikai követelményeket megtartja. The present invention represents a significant step forward from known solutions in that it facilitates eating for both handicapped and non-handicapped individuals, while maintaining the aesthetic requirements associated with fine dining utensils.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a cutlery which, when spreading a table for a number of persons, is easy to use by any person, whether handicapped or a person without fingers or a healthy person.

A találmány nem kíván speciális helykijelölési megfontolásokat a kézügyességben korlátozottak számára.The invention does not require special placement considerations for those who are handicapped.

A találmány további célja olyan evőeszköz előállítása, amelynek gyártása olcsó és szerkezete homogén, úgy hogy különböző mozgássérülésben szenvedő személyek tudják használni .It is a further object of the present invention to provide a cutlery which is inexpensive to manufacture and homogeneous in structure, so that it can be used by persons with various disabilities.

The cutlery comprises a fork or knife front portion attached to a handle or a curved shape. Where the handle meets the front, the thickness of the handle is sufficient to rest comfortably on the tip of the index finger. The handle then widens to guide and hold the index finger along its entire length. This portion of the handle may be widened or not and may or may not be recessed as depicted, but of course a preferred embodiment is shown.

Ezután a fogantyú a tenyéren keresztülhalad, a mutatóujj kézközépcsontjától kiindulva átlósan keresztül a tenyér közepén és a tenyér alapjánál, a csukló közelében végződik. The handle then passes through the palm, starting diagonally from the center of the index finger through the center of the palm and at the base of the palm near the wrist.

The upwardly curved bottom portion of the handle allows one or all fingers to exert the minimum pressure required to tighten the cutlery.

A találmányt részletesebben a rajzok alapján ismertetjük, amelyek a találmány szerinti evőeszköz példaként!The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawings, which are exemplary of the cutlery according to the invention.

Amennyiben azt megfelelő módon tartjuk, akkor a kar és a csukló lényegében párhuzamos marad a vízszintessel. Amint látható, a 20 mutatóujj a 12 fogantyú 13 elülső végrészén nyugszik, ahol a villa, kés vagy kanál csatlakozik hozzá.If properly held, the arm and wrist remain substantially parallel to the horizontal. As can be seen, the index finger 20 rests on the front end portion 13 of the handle 12, where a fork, knife or spoon attaches to it.

A 12 fogantyú 13 elülső végrésze elegendő széles ahhozThe front end portion 13 of the handle 12 is wide enough

- amint a 3. ábrán látható -, hogy a 20 mutatóujj végét kényelmesen alátámassza. A 20 mutatóujjat a kiszélesedő 14 és 17 részek tartják, amelyek vezetik és alátámasztják azt.as shown in Figure 3, to comfortably support the end of the index finger 20. The index finger 20 is held by the expanding portions 14 and 17 which guide and support it.

The recessed portion 15, adjacent to the portions 14 and 17 and holding the index finger 20, is best illustrated by a dashed line in Figure 2 and an elliptical oblong area in Figure 3.

A 12 fogantyú lefelé ívelt 16 hátsó része a tenyér köze pén halad keresztül és a kéz azon két része nyomja össze, amely a nagyujj alapjánál és a kéz hátsó végrészénél van, amelyet a továbbiakban a tenyér 18 alapjának nevezünk.The downwardly curved back portion 16 of the handle 12 passes through the middle of the palm and is compressed by the two parts of the hand at the base of the big finger and the back of the hand, hereinafter referred to as the base of the palm 18.

The downwardly curved back portion 16 of the handle 12 extends from the palm of the hand by a distance which depends on the size of the hand and is best illustrated in FIG.

In order to allow the hand to clamp the cutlery, the upwardly curved lower portion 19 of the handle 12 allows the fingers 21, 22, 23 and 24 to exert pressure on the cutlery.

Egy olyan személy, akinek csupán egy ujja van, már meg tudja fogni az evőeszközt azáltal, hogy a lefelé ívelt 16 hátsó részre a tenyérrel, míg a felfelé ívelt 19 alsó részre a megmaradó ujjal nyomást fejt ki.Squeezing the cutlery and consequently using it can be accomplished by combining the index finger and any of the fingers 21, 22, 23 and 24 individually or in combination. The cutlery can likewise be used well with the middle finger 21, which takes over the role of the index finger 20. A person who has only one finger can already grip the cutlery by applying pressure to the downwardly curved back 16 with the palm and to the upward curved lower 19 with the remaining finger.

A 2. ábrán az evőeszköz oldalnézete látható. Mivel az evőeszköz hosszanti tengelye körül szimmetrikus, a másik oldalnézet azonos a 2. ábrán láthatóval.Figure 2 is a side view of the cutlery. Because the cutlery is symmetrical about its longitudinal axis, the other side view is identical to that shown in Figure 2.

Attached to the front end of the handle 12 is a food carrying portion in the form of a fork, spoon or knife suitable for holding, carrying or cutting food.

A 4. Fig. 4 is a bottom view showing the widening portions 14 and portions which are sufficiently rounded to conform to the sides of the fingers in contact with it.

The upwardly curved portion 19 is sufficiently rounded on its underside to accommodate the gripper movement, as best shown in Figures 1 and 4.

Although the various parts of the cutlery are described as being interconnected, it is understood that the cutlery is also molded or otherwise formed from a homogeneous material such as wood, metal, plastic or the like.

The cutlery is not limited to the embodiment depicted and described, but may be different, without departing from the scope of the invention.

Természetesen egy előnyös kivitelt ábrázoltunk, azonban azon változtatás is eszközölhető, igy például a 14, 15, 17 részek kiszélesedhetnek vagy bemélyítettek lehetnek.Of course, a preferred embodiment is illustrated, but it can be varied so that, for example, portions 14, 15, 17 may be widened or recessed.
