Abstract

1,168,192. Bobbins; centring elements. F. STEFFENINI. 8 May, 1968 [12 May, 1967], No. 21672/68. Heading B8M. A centring element for a yarn bobbin comprises a first portion 2 secured to the inner surface of the bobbin 1, and a second portion 7 abutting a spindle 3 for rotatably driving the bobbin, the two portions 2 and 7 being interconnected through at least one flexible arm 6 integral with both portions. By means of the flexible arm 6, radial deformations of the bobbin 1 are not transmitted to the portion 7 abutting the spindle. The portion 7 is annularly shaped and may comprise a plurality of annular segments adjacent one another. The first and second portions 2 and 7 preferably lie on different planes and the flexible arm 6 is a tubular member. The first portion 2 is preferably integral with the bobbin 1. The bobbin may be provided internally with fins parallel to the bobbin axis or in a helical configuration. Slots engaging keys on the spindle may be provided at the base of the bobbin. [GB1168192A]
