Abstract

Portions 3b, 3d are sheathed in insulating material 22, and the depths of the bare portions 3c in the liquid, an alkaline electrolyte, carbonate, borate, or benzoate or caustic soda, is from 4 to 10 times their height. The electrodes, the floor 7 and its rib 7a are accommodated in the panels 4 by slots 5, 6, 6a having reinforcing thickenings 10, their positions being determined by notches 12 in the floor 7 and vertical holes in the thickneings 10 through which locking bars 17 extend to stops 19. Terminals 3a are provided in the cover 2 of the tank 1.
