Abstract
1,201,221. Substituted benzamides. SOC. D'ETUDES SOTENTIFIQUES ET INDUSTRIELLES DE -L'ILE-DE-FRANCE. 20 June, 1968 [20 June, 1967; 5 Sept., 1967], No. 29497/68. Heading C2C. Novel compounds of formula in which A is C 1-5 alkenyl or C 1-5 alkynyl; X, Y are H, halo, amino, C 1-5 alkylamino or di-(C 1 _ 5 alkyl)-amino; R 1 , R 2 are C 1-5 alkyl or together with N they form a heterocyclo which may also contain O ; and n is 1-3 are prepared by reacting a compound II with an amine III H 2 N-(CH 2 ) n -NR 1 (R 2 ) followed by acid addition or quaternary ammonium salt formation if desired. Intermediates isolated are those of Formula II prepared from the acid by reaction with thionyl chloride. Pharmaceutical compositions for enteral, parenteral or topical application contain a compound I together with a suitable excipient and are used as local anaesthetics.
