[Also in Divisions A2, B8 and C5] Pieces of fat coated with a substantially coherent homogeneous layer of a fatty material are made by extrusion coating a bar of fat and cutting the coated bar into sections. The fat bar is passed from a pipe 1 through an insulating lining 2 of a steel pipe 3. Molten fatty coating material is fed at 5 into the cavity between pipe 3 and casing 4 and is extruded through hole 6 to form a coating on the fat bar. A cutter 10 divides the coated bar into sections. [GB1238336A]
