Abstract
1,247,219. Treating micro-organisms. SCIENCE UNION ET CIE SOC., FRANCAISE DE RECHERCHE MEDICALE. 17 Jan., 1969 [22 Jan., 1968; 22 April, 1968], No. 2779/69. Heading A2D. [Also in Divisions A5, C4 and C6] Lyophilized live bacteria or yeast in a pulverulent and substantially dry state are put up in the form of an aerosol package with dichlorodifluoromethane (or liquid nitrogen) propellant. Examples are directed to aerosol formulations of: (1) Staphylococcus aureus, (2) Bacillus subtilis, (3) Klebsiella pneumoniae, (4) Serratia marcescens, (5) Lactobacillus casei and (6) Saccharomyces cerevisiae lyophilized from sterile saline solution (in 1 to 4) or specified culture medium (in 5) and the dichlorodifluoromethane. The lyophilisation may be conducted in the containers used for the aerosol formulation. The aerosol package is preserved at temperatures between +25 and -30‹C until required for use.
