1301856 Dispensing device FISONS PHARMACEUTICALS Ltd 17 April 1970 [16 May 1969] 25067/69 Heading A5T A pocket inhaler basically similar to that described in Specification 1122284 comprises a hollow elongated housing having at both ends air passages 8, 9, one end being adapted for insertion into the mouth, a propeller device 4 that carries a container for finely divided medicament and being mounted on a shaft 2 by means of a bearing tube 3 that has an internal diameter at its inner end less than that at its outer end. Passage of inspired air thus causes not only rotational but also vibrational movement of the propellor device. The included angle of the cone of precession within which the axis of the bearing tube is adapted to describe a path, lies within the range 0.5 to 30‹ and the nodal number of this epitrochoidal mation is greater than 15. The dimensions of the device are such that in the expression: the term: exceeds the term Rc by at least the minimum amount required to achieve fluidisation of the powder.
