Abstract
An aqs. product for the care of the mouth and teeth contng. Bacillus subtilis protease. Compared with fungal or pancreatic enzymes, the above protease is toxicologically innocuous and more stable in toothpastes. Inhibits the formn. of hard or soft deposits on the teeth and prevents parodontal diseases. The product, e.g. a toothpaste, contains the usual adjuvants and excipients together with Bacillus subtilis protease (0.2-5 Anson units/g) in an amount of 0.05-10% by wt., pref. 0.25-2.5%. Optionally, a fluorine cpd., pref. water-sol., may be added in an amount is not > 2% by wt.
