Abstract

1,232,451. Partition walls. BPB INDUSTRIES Ltd. 10 April, 1968 [23 Jan., 1968], No. 3609/68. Heading E1W. A runner and stud assembly for mounting partition walls between the floor and ceiling of a building incorporates studs 28, 32, 34, Fig. 2 of step-sided channel formation, the flange 34 thereof being received in a gap 36 in the end of the board 12 which is shaped as shown to register with the adjacent board 8. A packing piece 50 of cardboard may also be disposed in the gap 36 and the web 26 of the stud may have pressed out tabs leaving apertures for the passage of service conduits, see Fig. 5 (not shown). The runner 16 may be shaped as shown and provided with a single seal 24 or modified as shown in Fig. 6 to define twin channels for receiving seals 64; the latter being used in association with a finishing trim 80 having a notch 84 to locate it in position on the corner 76 of the runner.
