Abstract

[Also in Divisions F3-F4] The bottom of a milk cooling tank is formed by two superposed plates welded together along a continuous spiral seam 8 extending from a point near the centre to a point adjacent the periphery so as to form a spiral duct 9 through which a coolant fluid flows. The duct is formed by supplying gas under pressure to the space between adjacent seam windings and deformation occurs between two templates or moulds to control the amount and shape of such deformation.
