1,273,546. Desizing and dewaxing textiles. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 5 June, 1969 [25 June, 1968; 16 April, 1969], Nos. 30216/68 and 19457/69. Heading D1P. [Also in Divisions C3 and C5] Textile materials e.g. polyester/cotton fabrics, wool or cotton, have applied thereto a solution of a surfactant to remove waxes or a suspension of an enzyme desizing agent or an aqueous solution thereof, the disperse phase of said solution or suspension being a hydrocarbon or halogenated hydrocarbon solvent which is subsequently removed, and are then washed. The solvent may be removed by hot air, steam or hot water. The enzyme may be an amylase or gelatase. Specified solvents are trichlorethylene, perchlorethylene, 1, 1, 2-trichloro-1, 2, 2-trifluoroethane and 1, 1, 1-trichloroethane. [GB1273546A]
