Abstract

1,274,758. Caps for bottles. SOC. DE CONDITIONNEMENT EN ALUMINIUM SCAL G.P. 6 May, 1969 [6 May, 1968], No. 22938/69. Heading B8T. [Also in Division B3] A container closure 1 comprises a central part 11 with a disc top 111 and a frusto-conical side wall 112. A skirt 12 includes a cylindrical portion 121 and a frusto-conical portion 122 rolled back on itself through an angle of 180 to 225 degrees to form an inside bead 123 at the free end. An intermediate part 13 joins the skirt 12 in an annular groove 131 concave towards the inside of the cap and joins the periphery of the central part 11 with a further annular groove 113 concave towards the outside of the cap. A seal 14 is contained in the outer groove 131 and extends to cover the exposed end of the rolled over skirt. When fitted, the skirt is drawn downwards taking up the material of the outer groove 131 and forcing the seal 14 around the rim of a container. [GB1274758A]
