A corrugated board material comprises a layer a of corrugated paper having adhered to at least one face a discontinuous facing ply constituted by a plurality of strips or webs b, e.g. of paper, extending transversely of the flutes a<SP>1</SP> of the corrugated paper. A discontinuous facing may be applied to each surface of the layer of corru gated paper, the strips or webs of one facing ply preferably being offset with respect to the strips or webs of the other facing ply; alternatively, the corrugated board may comprise one discontinuous facing ply and one continuous facing ply. The products of the invention may be used as packaging materials, e.g. in the form of boxes or cartons. [GB1264039A]
